Slime!

Today some of the Ruru students experimented with Slime!
We were split into 6 groups with 6 different recipes of slime.. some of these had Jelly Crystals, Glue, Chocolate Sauce and cornflour! All of the recipes were completely different with completely different outcomes!

Do you know your 4 times tables?

This week we were learning  our 4 times tables. We watched an awesome video which gave us six multiplication strategies. Take a look at the video.

Todoroki  Bakugou and Kirishima are 3 friends from tokyo they are all 20 years old. kirishima has red spiky hair shark looking teeth and a scar on his eye.  Bakugou has spiky blond hair with red eyes. Todoroki as red and white hair half and half and he loves to read. Deku has green hair green eyes and has a diary about all super heros. All might is a villain how has blond hair and blue eyes.

 The 3 friends were eating ice creams at alexia’s  ice cream store but out of the window they saw deku and all might  together they new that was bad 

so Todoroki, Bakugou and Kirishima rushed across the city almost flying like a bird. to save Deku who was falling from a twenty five story hotel. 

Within seconds Spiderman started chasing after a villain named All might who was running as fast as a lightning bolt  and laughing his head off then Todoroki caught Deku as Kirishima followed Spider man Bakugou banged into Todoroki and then Bakugou caught  Deku bridle style and Todoroki landed on Bakugou's head.

Bakugou shouted GET OFF  ME ALL OF YOU. so they did they all went to deku’s house and watch netflix.

Spiderman was feeling great and exorcised and walked home and eat a cheeseburger and said what a crazy day.

Ellas story

Tell me what you think of the middle of my story.

”I need backup I repeat  I need backup!”Shouted spiderman into his ear piece.” And not those diamonds again they  do nothing.”

Spiderman was trying to save a girl called susan who had been pushed off a skyscraper in the middle of New York.The skyscraper was 210 stories tall.

Susan had been at her work and suddenly a slimy,.green,huge monster had smashed through the wall and followed susan to the roof and pushed her off and now she was as slimy as can be.

”We will ring up The dog and see if she has anyone else”Said S.H.I.E.L.D”Hold on... here they come.''

”Are you gonna save me or not”shouted susan .”Wooooooooosh.”Hey where did you go”Shouted spiderman. ”Over here”said  a voice.Spiderman turned around.

”Who are you?Asked Spiderman to the mysterious girl flying in front of him.”and where do you come from?”.Just then 4 more mysterious girls came up behind her.”We”said one of them “are girl power. ”Just then they came into the light.There flying before him were 5 beautiful girls in matching purple tights and long sleeve tops,over the top of their tops is a blue vest with the initials GP on them and they have a pink mask over top of their faces.”And we are here because you said you need backup oh where are our manners. My name is Ella.”sad one. ”And these are my friends Emma,Anya,Miah and Tiffany.”

Like a flash they zoomed down to the ground,dropped susan off and flow off into the sunset.

The next day spiderman was interviewed.” So how does it feel to not be able to save someone but a girl can”asked the reporter.Spiderman replied”Well it feels well umm well I don’t know?”.” What “replied the reporter in shock.”You don’t know.''”yep thats what I said.”

Back at their headquarters Girl power was watching the news whilst drinking some hot chocolate in there dressing gowns.”Wow that mission was so easy all we had to do was fly there grab susan put her back on the ground and fly back home how could spiderman not do that.He is more famous than us.”said Emma in one breathe .

Suddenly the news turned to a face.”Hi Mrs Thoms I means the dog”said Miah.”Hello girls great job last night and no one knows who you are all they know is that 5 girls saved susan and spiderman didn't .” ”I know it was so easy,”said Emma.”You all ways say that”said Anya.

“Girls we have good news and bad news, which one would you like to hear first.”

“The good news”they all said together.”Ok the good news is that we found out why spiderman couldn't save susan.The bad news is that you have to take your holidays off to find a supervillain called the slimmer.””Ok thanks dog.”said Tiffany.”Oh and girls by the end of the holidays you have to have a story on this.The whole class is”.”Ok and thanks again dog”said Ella sweetly.”Goodbye”.

”Goodbye well I will see you guys tomorrow we can start then and tonight lets try get some research and lots of sleep I can tell we will not be getting much this holidays.”said Ella.”Me 2,me 3,me 4,me 5.

”The next day the girls met up at there fav cafe Girl Power.”Ok so far we have the info that the slimmer lives in the sewers and want to make sewers appreciated  as well as make them a number 1 holiday place.So the first place we need to go is the sewers.”

The girls got into their superhero suits and quietly went down the sewer.They had been walking for hours until Tiffany finally said that they had been walking in circles and then they saw him the slimmer. He was so big and green and of course slimy just how susan had described.”Hi slimer”said Emma

“Who are you”The slimmer said back in a deep voice”and what do you want.”

“We”said Anya”are girl power and we want to stop you from your plans to make this famous and a number one holiday destination.””So are you wanting to fight”said the slimmer”exactly”Ella said

Respect and sportsmanship

This week we had a focus on what respect and sportsmanship looks like. In groups we got given an issue. From there, we had to think of a way to prevent the issue happening, rules that we could make to stop the issue if it happens and a way we could show respect in that situation.

This is Jaden's Climbing story. Tell him what you think of the way he has told a character, action and some feelings.

This week in writing we had a challenge for our descriptive writing. Our challenge was to get as many points as we could using writing features. This is how we scored points.  

Points system:

You will be awarded 1 point each time you add;

• An interesting adjective (describing word)
• A correctly placed punctuation mark.

You will be awarded 2 points if you have;

• An opening paragraph that hooks the reader in
• A concluding paragraph that sums up what has been described
• A new paragraph for something you are describing

You will be awarded 5 points each time you add;

• A simile
• A metaphor
• Alliteration over 3 words long (eg lovely, luscious, lemon)

You will be given bonus points for style

How to make a great comment posters

A couple of weeks ago we learnt how to write a comment on someones blog. Miss Morgan helped us do that. With our cybersmart buddies we had a go at leaving a comment on Cooper's blog. Last Friday we put or creative hats on as our task was to make a poster about how to make a great poster. Have a look our ones below. Ripper Writers!

This week in Ripper Writers we are writing a story about Mrs Thoms dog Mungo and cat Mia.
Mrs Thoms explained what we had to do.. first we had to do a brainstorm about Mia. Then a brainstorm about Mungo. Then a brainstorm about what our story was going to include. We talked all about why it's important to plan so that we can always go back to it for ideas, change ideas, use ideas and if we forget something!

Winter Sport
